Ply Split Braiding.
With this technique you can braid cords in a specific way. This braiding technique has its roots in India where camel drivers braided bands to use for their camels.
Peter Collingwood has done much research on this subject and wrote a book (The Techniques of Ply Split Braiding) about this method of braiding. He introduced it into the U.S.A.
These cords exist of 3 or 4 plies, which can be split, so another cord can be pulled through.
There are several ways to braid and different objects and/or utensils can be made.
